BUILDING COMMUNITY | ANNUAL REPORT | 2022-2023

        VITAL SIGNS

The 2023 Vital Signs report focuses on North Simcoe and area (Midland, Tiny, Tay,
Penetanguishene and includes Christian Island and the Township of Georgian Bay).

Vital Signs is a national program, led by Commmunity Foundations, that leverages local knowledge to measure
the vitality of our communities and support action toward improving quality of life. The report enables HCF to
make data-driven decisions to respond to the needs of our local community.

Each member of the 2023 Vital Signs volunteer committee worked tirelessly to collect and combine the data
from Federal, Provincial, County and local groups through consultation with community, environment and
resident surveys and focus groups. Once the research had been compiled, of the United Nations’ 17 sustainable
development goals, nine were identified as local priorities:

NO POVERTY ZERO HUNGER GOOD HEALTH CLEAN WATER
                                       AND WELL-BEING AND SANITATION

         DECENT WORK SUSTAINABLE
AND ECONOMIC CITIES AND CLIMATE ACTION LIFE BELOW LIFE ON LAND
         GROWTH COMMUNITIES WATER

Huronia Community Foundation will continue to host conversations with the community, and, as we work on our
strategic plan, we will consider alternative options to help support the North Simcoe region to ensure it does not
        just survive, but thrives!
