Giving for a Cause
Giving for A Cause is a Huronia Community Foundation initiative. A fundraising event, this occasion gives like-minded people from the community an opportunity to support and sustain local charities, now and forever.
By donating $100, each person is extended a ballot so they can nominate their charity of choice, with the hope that it will receive the combined total of all of the donations collected.

On October 2nd, 2019 at Restaurant Sainte-Marie:

Three of the nominated charities will be chosen at random. A vote will be taken to determine which charity will receive the donated money. Fifty percent of the funds will be immediately given to the chosen charity; the remainder of the funds are placed in an Endowment Fund in the charity’s name through the Huronia Community Foundation, to ensure sustainability for the winning charity for years to come.
Charitable receipts will be issued to donors, and 100% of every donation will go to the chosen charity.
Individuals can donate alone, or workplaces can pool their donations!
The thank you party where we will announce the winning charity will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019 from 6 – 8 pm at Restaurant Sainte-Marie.

Last year’s winning Charity, Hospice Huronia, is not eligible to win this year.
