Heart of Georgian Bay - Community Forward Fund

About the Fund

The Heart of Georgian Bay Community Forward Fund is a funding opportunity that supports local project-based applications. Priority will be given to start-ups and new initiatives.

The funder is looking for bold & innovative ideas that address any of the following:

Food Security
Education
Literacy and Training Opportunities
Healthy Living Activities
Environmental Leadership
Promotion of Mental Health
or Creativity in Arts and Culture

This $100,000 annual funding opportunity will be disbursed as follows:

10 grants of up to $5,000 each
5 grants of up to $10,000 each

Since partial funding is possible depending on the quality of the applications, the total number of grants made may increase.

Terms and Conditions for the Heart of Georgian Bay Community Forward Fund:

The fund supports new and innovative project-based applications. The funds must be used for the approved project. If the project does not proceed, the funds are to be returned to HCF.
All funding must be matched by the applicant.
Any funds received must be used by September 30th, 2025
The project must provide a direct benefit to the communities of Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny or Tay Townships, or Beausoleil First Nations.
Grant applicants must be a registered charity. If you do not represent a registered charity please arrange for a charity or qualified donee to host your project.
Capital expenditures do not qualify.
Wages and operational budgets are not covered.
Sectarian causes are not supported.
Grants to support fundraising are not supported.
Grants will be judged by an independent VOLUNTEER GRANT COMMITTEE and approved by the Fund Sponsor. Applicants will be notified of their results.
Successful applicants must submit an Impact Statement to HCF upon completion of the project. Failure to comply will result in the decline of any new application for ANY funding requests from HCF in subsequent years. All stories become the property of HCF to be used for publication by HCF through our website, and social & print media channels.
